"The level of play we have witnessed this week in Waterloo has been very exciting," said Bill Hubbs, executive director, Ringette Canada. "The ITECH performance award winners have been consistent and exiting performers and we are proud to be able to recognize their efforts and contribution to the sport of ringette."

While the championships hope to stimulate ringette participation in Canada, they also carry the important goal of promoting excellence in competitive ringette - team excellence and individual excellence. Criteria for being awarded an ITECH performance award include: general excellence, specialized skills in her position, contribution to team success, capacity for fair play, and sportsmanship.

Fair play awards were also presented in each division. Winners included the Nova Scotia juniors, the combined PEI/New Brunswick belles and the BC open team.
