Janice Snowdon

“I remember when my oldest daughter, Jessica wanted to try ringette, since she liked to skate.  We had tried basketball, tap dancing (which to this day, they won’t let me live that one down), and gymnastics trying to find something they loved to do. So, the first year she was the only one playing and after the second year my other two, Kelly and Jenny, joined. When my youngest, Britney, turned five, that was it. They were always looking for certified coaches, so Tanya Bell took me along to take the coaching level 1 so there would always be someone there for the girls to play. From there I learned to coach, do the clock and game sheets, and fill in anywhere I could. We are very fortunate that all four girls love the game. It became our life and we have met great people throughout all the years from playing with other associations on Provincial teams and even across Canada, we call it our ringette family. And now, watching my girls give back to the sport makes me a very proud parent.” – Janice Snowdon (Moncton, New Brunswick)
