Beautifully situated and known for its picturesque church on the hill, the Town of Beaumont began as French Colony in 1895. It has grown considerably since then averaging more than 5% growth per year for the last decade and attracting over $1billion in new investment in the 21st century. Beaumont is home to 17,720 residents; about 150 storefront businesses; and over 250 home based businesses. As a bilingual community, many businesses offer service in both English and French. Beaumont is a young community with 24.7% of our residents age 15 or younger. Ringette and other sports are very popular in our young active community. We hope you will take some time to explore our community and our businesses while you are here. Have a great tournament!
The Dale Fisher Arena was originally built in 1972 by hardworking community volunteers and received a major upgrade in 2011. The arena was named in honour of Dale Fisher, who was instrumental in both the development of the arena and of the minor hockey program in Devon. Today the Dale Fisher Arena is home to the Devon Minor Hockey Association, Devon Skating Club, Alberta Xtreame hockey academy and several adult hockey teams.
The Town of Devon is nestled on the banks of the beautiful North Saskatchewan River and features a scenic view overlooking the banks of the river valley. Our vibrant and dynamic community, with a population of 6,650, is located a short 15 minutes from the west and south side of the capital city, Edmonton.
Whether it’s summer or winter, Devonians love to be outdoors and active. You will find them exploring the vast network of paved and natural trials, hiking the river valley, swinging a golf club, shredding on their fat bikes or lacing up their skates at the Dale Fisher Arena.
