It didn’t take long for Maddix Anderson to record her 100th regular season point for the Mitchell Fun 3 (U10) Scott ringette team.

She scored the first of her seven goals 32 seconds into their Western Regional game with Mitchell’s U10 Nater squad March 9, leading the Stingers to a 12-3 win.

Anderson also added three assists for a 10-point game, continuing to lead her club at both ends of the ice as the year-end Regional championships take place in London this weekend (March 22-24).

In 19 league games, Anderson has a Gretzky-like 88 goals and 21 assists for 109 points, not counting the final league contest that took place this past weekend. Her nearest competitor in the scoring race, a player from Guelph, is 46 points behind her.

An unbelievable season, no matter how you look at it.

It gets even better if you include her point totals in tournaments, as Anderson has amassed another 55 goals in three tournaments — all gold-medal performances — as well as 10 assists, bringing her overall point totals to 143 goals and 31 assists for 174 points . . . and counting!

This also doesn’t count any scoring points she picked up as a call-up to other Mitchell teams this season or exhibition games.

Sadie Schoonderwoerd and Emma Ruston both had two-goal games for the winning side March 9 while Mackenley Cardno added the other. Ainsley Nater, Lyla Gloor and Maddy Brodhagen scored for the Nater squad, as they too prepare for Regionals.

In Waterloo March 10 for league action, the Nater team got a pair of goals from Gloor in a 7-7 deadlock. Six different Stingers scored: Erica Walt, Danna Upshall, Emma Elliott, Nater and Brodhagen were the others.

Three games in four days resulted in losses for the hamstrung U14B team as they work towards completing their regular season schedule.

In Goderich March 7, Jordyn Schellenberger and Aliya O’Rourke scored but it wasn’t enough in a 4-2 loss to Goderich (Rena). At home to Dorchester March 9, Mitchell jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but the Dragons roared back for a 9-5 victory. Schellenberger had a hat trick for the Stingers while Abby Paulen and O’Rourke also scored. Charlee McFarlane had three assists for Mitchell, with Lily Ruston and Miranda Scherbarth both picking up a pair.

In Goderich March 10, the home side jumped out to a 7-1 halftime lead en route to a 9-2 victory. Schellenberger and Paulen scored for Mitchell.

Breccan Mahon and Kylie Robertson each scored twice and Lauren Dowson picked up the shutout as the U16B ringette team blanked St. Thomas 7-0 in league action March 10 in St. Thomas.

Kayden Jordan, Kennady Ahrens and Brooke Nugent also scored as the Stingers built a 3-0 halftime lead and cruised to victory.

Sam Hamilton and Evelyn Ward were the only scorers for the U12B team as they travelled to Fergus and lost 5-2 to Elora-Fergus March 10.
