CBC Sports to feature the National Ringette League

 

Ottawa, ON–Ringette Canada is thrilled to announce that two National Ringette League Hubs have been selected to air on CBC Sports as part of our plan to further promote and professionalize the league, and get more eyes on the growing sport of ringette.  In the West, the Edmonton WAM! Hub will be held November 30-December 1, 2024 in Leduc, AB. In the East, the Gatineau Fusion Hub will be held March 15-16, 2025 in Gatineau, QC.  

 

The Edmonton WAM! Hub will be held in Leduc, AB at the Leduc Recreation Centre. As part of the enhanced coverage, games will feature multiple camera angles, as well as a commentary team. The National Ringette League trophy will be on site for photos, and the 2024 National Champion Edmonton WAM! will host an autograph session on November 30. Please see the end of this release for a schedule of games.

The National Ringette League was established in 2002, and is the top level league for ringette in the country. 

 

Tickets are available now through TournKey, here. Children can get free entry if they wear a ringette jersey.

About the National Ringette League

The National Ringette League is the longest continuously running professional women’s sports league in Canada. The NRL schedule is structured into regional ‘Hubs’, with all games played on weekends and numbered according to week in the schedule. An NRL game is played in four quarters, each 13 minutes in length. Each team in the East plays a 24-game regular season, while each team in the West plays a 20-game regular season.  There is a West and East Division. In 2024-25, the West Division is comprised of the BC Thunder, Calgary RATH, Edmonton Black Gold Rush, Edmonton WAM!, Manitoba Herd, and Saskatchewan Heat. In the East, teams competing are the Atlantic Attack, Cambridge Turbos, Gatineau Fusion, Montreal Mission, Nepean Ravens, Rive-Sud Revolution, and Waterloo Wildfire.
