Ringette Canada to host High Performance Summit in Ottawa

Ottawa, Ontario – May 30, 2016 – Ringette Canada is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a High Performance Summit in Ottawa. The Summit has been tentatively slated for August 26 to 28, 2016. The purpose of the summit is to develop a national high performance plan for ringette in Canada and will bring together a core leadership group, as well as 20 invited key stakeholders.

“We are very excited to be engaging our ringette community in the development of a world-class high performance program,” said Natasha Johnston, Ringette Canada Executive Director. “We recognize that this will be a collaborative approach and are confident that the outcome will be a strengthened high performance approach that our entire sport will benefit from.”

The national high performance plan will provide the ringette community with a blueprint for action and identify the long-term goals and strategies required to help the sport achieve a shared vision.

Since it is not feasible to bring all key stakeholders together for the Summit, Ringette Canada will be using a variety of methods to engage the entire ringette community leading up to the Summit. Some of these methods include webinars; online surveys; analyzing feedback from coaches, athletes, the National Ringette League and provincial associations; and reviewing comparable high performance plans developed by other national sport organizations.
