We Are Ready! PEI Set to Host the Nation for the 2023 Canada Winter Games

Charlottetown, PE (February 15, 2023) – The PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games Host Society is ready to give a warm Maritime welcome to over 3,600 athletes, managers and coaches as they descend on PEI’s friendly shores for the 29th edition of the Canada Games.

The 2023 Canada Winter Games will kick off with the Opening Ceremony on February 18th at 7:30 pm from the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown. Limited tickets are still available and the Ceremony will be streamed live for free at canadagames.ca/watch, CBC Gem, CBCSports.ca and Radio-Canada.ca/Sports.

Featuring over 150 events across different 20 sports and a major arts and culture festival, the Island will be aglow with excitement from February 18 – March 5, 2023. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 Canada Winter Games:

Sport Schedule 
From Archery and Alpine Skiing to Fencing and Wheelchair Basketball, the 2023 Canada Winter Games is a showcase of the very best in Canadian sport and spirit. For the first time, Karate, Female Boxing, and Mixed Doubles Curling will debut on the Canada Games program for the PEI 2023 Games.

Tickets 
Cheer on the best of the next generation of Canadian athletes! With single venue tickets starting at $10 and day passes starting at $20, the PEI 2023 Games will be inclusive and accessible for all to enjoy.

Fans can take in all the action and watch seven sports for free including Alpine Ski, Snowboard, Freestyle Ski, Cross-Country Ski, Biathlon, and Long Track Speed Skating.

Tickets can be purchased online through Ticketmaster or at each ticketed competition venue.

Results & Medal Standings
Celebrate medal-winning moments by Canada’s next generation of national, international, Olympic, Paralympic, and Special Olympic champions. The official list of medal winners and results by sport is available here.

Broadcast 
The PEI 2023 Host Society and Canada Games Council are proud to reveal the broadcast schedule and new digital streaming service.

Festival 
The 2023 Canada Games is proud to present IllumiNATION – a 14-day celebration of PEI and Canadian arts and culture.

Headliners include Serena Ryder, Matt Andersen & The Big Bottle of Joy, The Beaches, The Road Hammers, The Trews, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, and many more.

Featuring over 100 artists, over 40 shows and more than 20 different stages for 14 days of unforgettable fun and creative discoveries, IllumiNATION has something for everyone. Celebrations will take place across the Island with every event open to the public and free to attend.
