Los Angeles, Calif. – November 4, 2025 – All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN) and Ringette Canada today announced a partnership that will bring the 2025-2026 season of the National Ringette League (NRL) games to live, global television audiences, beginning on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 10:30 a.m. ET/7:30 a.m. PT, from Edmonton.
Following the morning game between the B.C. Thunder and the Edmonton Rush, the live action will continue on AWSN with a game between the Edmonton WAM! and the Rocky Mountain Rage.
Available in 65 countries around the world, AWSN, the first-ever television network dedicated exclusively to around the clock coverage of women’s sports, airs free-of-charge in Canada, the home of ringette, on Pluto TV.
The move to network television marks a major milestone for the National Ringette League, the longest-running elite women’s sports league in Canada, as it expands its reach beyond traditional borders.
“We are incredibly proud to be the first sports broadcaster in the world to prominently feature ringette on a global scale. In celebrating the rich tradition of this uniquely Canadian sport, we honor the legacy and spirit of its passionate community. We’re thrilled to help elevate ringette on the world stage and showcase the phenomenal talent, dedication, and athleticism that define this incredible game,” said AWSN CEO George Chung.
“This is a new era for ringette and for women’s sports globally,” said Jenni Lloyd, Communications, Engagement & Marketing Director at Ringette Canada. “Joining this incredible women’s focused network to uplift our sport and these extraordinary athletes who compete at the highest level in the National Ringette League, is a testament to our commitment to developing and growing ringette on a global level. We want our viewers to witness the talent, intensity, and passion of ringette like never before.”
The season kicked off in Atlantic Canada on Oct 3 and 4 with a series of round robin games played amongst three different NRL teams – the Montreal Mission, Atlantic Attack, and the Gatineau Fusion – over the course of the two days.
The new NRL regular season matchups will air live on AWSN over the course of the next two and a half months, from three key Canadian hubs, as follows:
- Leduc, AB (West) – November 29 and 30, 2025 (9 games)
- Burlington, ON (East) – January 10 and 11, 2026 (8 games)
- Winnipeg, MB (West) – January 17 and 18, 2026 (8 games)
With the partnership announced today, Ringette Canada joins a fast-growing lineup of women’s sports properties that are also distributed on AWSN, including UEFA soccer, FIBA 3×3 WS basketball, Athletes Unlimited volleyball and softball and ECC-W cricket.
Ringette, which was created originally for women’s competition, is a team sport played on an ice rink, with players wearing ice hockey skates and protective equipment.
The competitors use straight sticks with a drag tip designed for playing on an ice surface.
Two teams compete against one another with the objective of each team being to score more goals than its opponent by shooting a blue, hollow, rubber ring into the opposing team’s goal.
There are a number of rules that distinguish ringette from the sport of hockey, including the use of a 30-second shot clock that encourages shooting and leads to a fast-paced game requiring constant motion.
There is no offside rule in ringette, but players cannot carry the ring over the blue line. Players must pass the ring over a blue line to a teammate, making it the ultimate team sport for fostering teamwork and communication.
A National Ringette League game consists of 4 quarters, each of which is 13 minutes long.
Since it was founded in Canada in 1963, ringette has grown internationally, with teams from foreign countries, including Finland, Sweden, the U.S., The Czech Republic, Japan and India have formed and compete in the sport.
