Fabulous Friday – Women Rule the Ice in Ottawa
Ottawa’s Women’s Sports Unite During the 2026 Canadian Ringette Championships
Ottawa, ON – March 23, 2026 – Ottawa is set to become a powerhouse hub for women’s sport as the 2026 Canadian Ringette Championships take over the city from March 30 to April 4. In a celebration of athletic excellence, collaboration, and community spirit, “Fabulous Friday” on April 3rd will spotlight an exciting coming together of elite women’s sport organizations—all supporting one another and inspiring the next generation.
At the centre of the collaboration is a partnership with Ottawa’s professional women’s hockey team, the Ottawa Charge. Fans can purchase discounted tickets to an upcoming Charge game at the Canadian Tire Centre through a dedicated ringette link, with $5 from each ticket sale directed to support the Canadian Ringette Championships. Fans who attend the Charge game can also present their game ticket for complimentary access to Canadian Ringette Championships games.

Adding to the celebration, Ottawa Rapid FC—Ottawa’s professional women’s soccer team—will be on site at the CTC with a promotional booth, connecting with fans and building excitement for their upcoming home opener.
“Fabulous Friday” will also feature a Media and Celebrity Ringette Game, bringing together local media personalities alongside appearances by Ottawa Charge and Ottawa Rapid players for an on-ice showcase. The event will highlight the fun of ringette while offering participants from across the sports and media community an opportunity to experience the game firsthand.
This collaboration reflects a broader movement: women’s sports organizations working together to amplify visibility, grow fan engagement, and strengthen pathways for female athletes across multiple sports disciplines.
“Fabulous Friday reflects the momentum behind women’s sport in Ottawa,” said Jenni Lloyd, Ringette Canada’s Director of Communications, Marketing and Engagement. “Bringing together ringette, hockey, and soccer in one setting highlights both the level of talent in this city and the opportunity to grow audiences by working together.”
The Canadian Ringette Championships (CRC) will welcome the nation’s top athletes, teams, and fans for a week of elite competition and unforgettable experiences. With over 120 games of round robin play, the action doesn’t stop.
