Ringette Canada awards 2025 scholarships

Ringette Canada is delighted to announce the recipients of the 24th annual Cara Brown Ringette Scholarship Award.

Receiving Cara Brown Ringette Scholarships are Sydney Dial (Langley, BC) and Maci Dobbin (Halifax, NS).

Sydney Dial is a member of Ringette British Columbia, and played for U19AA Team British Columbia this past season. She is furthering her education at Trinity Western University.

“Without ringette, I would not be the person that I am today,” said Dial. “The sport has helped me tremendously in not only my growth as an athlete, but has also provided me with essential tools in the personal, professional, and academic aspects of my life.”

Maci Dobbin is a Ringette Nova Scotia member and played for U19AA Team Nova Scotia this past season. She is furthering her education at Dalhousie University.

“Ringette has been far more than just a sport for me—it has been a life teacher,” Dobbin said. “The challenges and triumphs on the ice have helped me develop the mindset and character I carry with me in every aspect of my life. Ringette has not only shaped me into the person I am today, but it has also laid the foundation for who I strive to be tomorrow.”

The Cara Brown Ringette Scholarship was created to honour Cara’s involvement in ringette and is awarded to a registered ringette player who is actively playing ringette at the elite level, who is entering a Canadian university on a full-time basis for the first time, who combines academic excellence and a minimum of a B average with a strong commitment to the sport of ringette. Recipients receive a $1000 scholarship towards post-secondary education.

Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients!
