Team Canada Ringette Heads to the World Ringette Championships
Lahti, FI–In just a few days, Team Canada will head across the Atlantic to Lahti, Finland, to compete in the 16th World Ringette Championships.
The World Ringette Championship is the premiere international event for ringette, featuring over 200 athletes, more than 50 bench staff, 18 games, and an international U18 development festival.
The Senior National Team (SNT) competes in the Sam Jacks Pool against Finland, while the U21 Junior National Team (JNT) competes in the Juuso Wahlsten Pool against Finland. The third competition pool competes for the President’s Trophy, and includes Team USA, Team Sweden, and Team Czechia.
The Junior National Team seeks to upgrade their silver medal won at the 2023 World Ringette Championships, which was held in Calgary, Canada. The Senior National Team is also seeking redemption, having finished in second in their last appearance on the World stage at the 2022 World Ringette Championships in Espoo, Finland.
“After much training and dedication, Team Canada is extremely excited to represent our country,” said Peter Leyser, Ringette Canada’s Chief Executive Officer. “The best way for Canadians to support these elite athletes is to watch the games, and follow the action on our social media. Having people from all over the world support our national teams is the ultimate way to grow the sport internationally.”
The structure of the championship sees Canada’s SNT and JNT play two exhibition games on November 4 and 6, and then compete in the Finals on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, 2025. For the full schedule, including corresponding time zone translations, visit our website here. Ringette Canada will publish a daily wrap up on our website and disseminate via email. All games will be streamed behind a paywall on ringette.tv, with the Finals being livestreamed free of charge for Canadian viewers thanks to the CBC, and will be available on CBC Sports Youtube.
The U18 Development Festival is held alongside the event at the Pajulahti Olympic Training Centre, with teams from Canada and Finland, who will experience best-in-class individual and group training, culminating in a series of intersquad games where the two nations will be blended.
This is a culmination of a lifetime of training, and support from countless coaches, family members, and others. Each athlete is poised to represent Canada on the World stage, and show how intense, fast, and competitive ringette is.
